Liposuction

Dr. Robert Zubowski is proud to offer numerous state-of-the-art liposuction procedures at his cosmetic surgery center. Based on your desired results, Dr. Zubowski will help you decide between ultrasonic liposuction and tumescent liposuction.

Ultrasonic Liposuction

The ultrasonic liposuction technique involves the use of a special cannula (a suction tube) that emits ultrasonic energy, which liquefies fat cells to make them easier to remove. Ultrasonic liposuction offers a very precise approach and is most effective in the more fibrous areas of the body, such as the chest and back. The vast majority of ultrasonic liposuction patients at our practice are extremely pleased with the results of their procedure.

Tumescent Liposuction

When Dr. Zubowski performs tumescent liposuction, he first infuses large amounts of a local anesthetic solution mixed with epinephrine into small incisions made in the target area. Epinephrine helps to counteract bleeding while the anesthetic ensures that the patient remains awake but comfortable throughout the tumescent liposuction procedure. Once the tissues in the target area have tumesced, or become firm, by the injection of this fluid, the doctor begins to remove the fat using a small cannula. With tumescent liposuction, recovery time is minimal and the patient can normally return to light exercise within a few days of the procedure.
