Meet Dr. Dabb

Richard W. Dabb, M.D., F.A.C.S., has over twenty five years of experience in plastic surgery. Having initiated breast reconstruction in York and pioneered many reconstructive microvascular procedures, he has moved to the forefront in state-of-the-art aesthetic surgery.

His vast experience has led to a professional dedication to answer the needs of a patient seeking aesthetic and functional improvement, offering them the most advanced surgical techniques available for facial and body improvement.

He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He is Chief of Plastic Surgery at York Hospital and is on the staff at Johns Hopkins University - School of Medicine (JHU-SM), and the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (HMC-PSU).

He is to committed bring the best and most up-to-date methods to his patients in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

His utilization of endoscopic surgery, laser resurfacing, of the skin, and ultrasonic assisted liposuction has enabled him to provide smaller incisions with less recuperative time than conventional procedures.

His artistic and perceptual talent has enabled him to developer a unique approach insuring the best results.

He was the first plastic surgeon in Pennsylvania to use endoscopic techniques in face lifting procedures, augmentation mammoplasty, and abdominoplasty.

He had the first skin care center connected to a plastic surgery practice and was the first to utilize laser resurfacing in the state. His goal is to provide the most functional and natural result possible.

Credentials

Richard W. Dabb, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a graduate of Colgate University (CU), Temple University School of Medicine (TSMU), and completed his plastic surgery education at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn).

Board Certification

He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) and The American Board of Surgery (ABS).

Practice Experience

He has over twenty five years of experience in plastic surgery, and he established his private practice, the Center for Aesthetic for Reconstructive Surgery of York. P.C, since 1985. Having initiated breast reconstruction in York and pioneered many reconstructive microvascular procedures, he has moved to the forefront in state-of-the-art aesthetic surgery. His vast experience has led to a professional dedication to answer the needs of a patient seeking aesthetic and functional improvement, offering them the most advanced surgical techniques available for facial and body improvement.

He has been Chief of Plastic Surgery at York Hospital and is on the staff of 4 other medical facilities.

He is committed at the Center to bring the best and most up-to-date methods to his patients in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Academic and Teaching

He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins University - School of Medicine (JHU-SM) and a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (HMC-PSU) at Penn State University (PSU).

Current Research

Dr. Dabb has a special interest in reconstructive microsurgery, pain management and the development of new technology, endoscopic plastic surgery and educating future generations of plastic surgeons.

He is currently working on several research projects.
  • Perfecting microvascular lymphatic reconstruction for the treatment of acquired lymphedema.
  • Developing the application of pain pump technology to plastic surgery.
  • Developing techniques in endoscopic plastic surgery for face lifting, breast surgery, and abdominoplasty.
  • Development of educational curriculum for plastic surgeons in perceptual skills.
