Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods. The best candidates for liposuction are normal-weight people with firm, elastic skin who have pockets of excess fat in certain areas. You should be physically healthy, psychologically stable and realistic in your expectations. Your age is not a major consideration; however, older patients may have diminished skin elasticity and may not achieve the same results as a younger patient with tighter skin.
After surgery a compressive garment must be worn at all times underneath the clothes for approximately 2 to 4 weeks. It is very important to wear post-operative garments to aid the body in healing properly.
After a patient is fully recovered from surgery they are able to start Synergie treatments in our medi-spa. The first 12 treatments are complimentary and are a half hour twice a week for maximum improvement. Synergie is a vacuum assisted massage therapy that tightens and tones the skin while minimizing the appearance of cellulite. It works through the lymphatic system so it is recommended that the patient drink plenty of water. Email Dr. Maguire Back to top
