The Liposuction Body Contouring Procedure

A surgical tube called a cannula is used during the liposuction procedure. It is through this tube that fat cells are removed. In consultation with our cosmetic surgeon, you can discuss your overall cosmetic goals and the specific area or areas you would like to target with liposuction. Dr. Kovanda performs the advanced Power Assisted Lipoplasty form of liposuction. This procedure involves the use of a special cannula device; one with a high frequency vibration designed to disturb and emulsifies fat, making it easier to remove. Because fat is removed more easily during Power Assisted Lipoplasty, less bruising and trauma occur than during traditional liposuction, making it a less invasive overall procedure.
