Common locations for liposuction include the neck, abdomen, inner and outer thighs, flanks, back, and knees. Liposuction can also used to treat gynecomastia, a common condition in men in which the breasts grow to an unnaturally large size.
The liposuction procedure has benefited from numerous technological and methodological improvements over the years, and is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries today. During the procedure, a tiny incision will be made near the targeted area, and a narrow tube or cannula is used to vacuum the fat tissue from deep below the skin.
Though liposuction is a common and safe procedure, there are risks and limitations to the surgery; realistic expectations and good overall health are necessary for a successful procedure and outcome. Set up a consultation with Dr. Kobienia today to determine if you’re a good candidate for liposuction.
Q: What is the recovery period after liposuction?
A: Recovery time depends on the individual, but in general, you will take pain medication and rest for the first few days after liposuction. After about a week, you may be able to begin light exercise, and slowly resume your regular daily life within two to three weeks. Email Dr. Kobienia Back to top
