FAQ

Liposuction has grown tremendously in popularity over the past decade for both men and women. As we become more aware of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle in order to maintain fitness and appearance, more people are finding that diet and exercise may not be sufficient to remove fat deposits in localized areas, that can slowly appear as our bodies age. Men typically find their abdomen and hips are the areas resistant to diet and exercise, and continually battle the formation of "love handles", whilst many women discover that no matter how much they work out, how many hundreds of sit-ups they do, or how many miles they log on an exercise bike, they cannot eliminate the fat deposits at their hips, thighs or arms.

Also known as "lipoplasty" or "suction lipectomy", liposuction is offered at our office to help women and men of all body types achieve the contoured body they truly desire. Liposuction can do wonders in many areas, including the abdomen, hips, waist, thighs, buttocks, upper arm, back, neck, and breasts.

Liposuction procedures have benefited from several new refinements in related technology, which allow us to target problem areas of the body with absolute precision, and at the same time minimizing bleeding and scarring that were traditionally associated with the procedure. We uses the tumescent technique, which benefits the patient by greatly reducing post-operative discomfort and recovery time. An anesthetic solution is injected directly into the area of the body where fatty tissue is to be removed; then a small incision of about ½ inch is made to allow the introduction of a gentle suction tube, used to remove the fatty deposits. The residual anesthetic may last up to 18 hours after surgery, minimizing post-operative discomfort. The treated area is then covered with a compression garment to ensure quick and effective healing.
