Dr. Bradon Wilhelmi Dr. Wilhelmi is the Leonard J. Weiner Professor and Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery in the Department of Surgery at University of Louisville (UofL). He is also Program Director for the Plastic Surgery Residency program at UofL. Dr. Wilhelmi is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Prior to coming to Louisville, Dr. Wilhelmi served on the faculty as a Plastic Surgeon and completed the Hand Microsurgery Fellowship at Harvard Medical School - Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He was also a Faculty Plastic Surgeon at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine for several years.
Dr. Wilhelmi received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago in 1992, graduating in the top 10 percent of his class. He completed pre-requisite residency training in General Surgery at Northwestern University in 1996 and Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1999. His extensive training includes experience in cancer and breast reconstruction at the University of Texas-MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, aesthetic plastic surgery in Miami, and pediatric plastic surgery and burn experience at the Galveston Shriner's Hospital.
Honored numerous times with regional and national awards for research and presentations, Dr. Wilhelmi has authored more than 90 scientific publications and textbook chapters. Dr. Wilhelmi specializes in aesthetic procedures including breast augmentation, breast reconstruction, breast lifts, tummy tucks, face and eye lifts and nasal recontouring.
Dr. Larry D. Florman Dr. Florman limits his private practice to surgery of the nose. He graduated from University of Louvain (Belgium) Medical School and completed a General Surgery Residency at Beth Israel Medical Center (New York), an Ear, Nose and Throat Residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital (New York), and a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at University of Louisville Hospital.
He’s been in private practice in Louisville for nearly 30 years, a clinical instructor in Plastic Surgery (UofL) for more than 30 years and an Assistant Professor in Plastic Surgery and Otolaryngology (UofL) for the past three years. Dr. Florman is Associate Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency Program at UofL.
Dr. Terry M. McCurry Dr. Terry M. McCurry graduated with Honors from the University of Louisville Medical School, completed Surgery residency, and finished his Plastic Surgery training at Indiana University. He returned to Louisville to join the faculty and has worked closely with the bariatric team in treating post-weight loss patients. This work includes tummy tucks, lower body lifts, breast lifting, augmentation or reduction, as well as arm and leg reductions. He also offers similar procedures for non-weight-loss patients.
Dr. McCurry also treats and reconstructs skin cancers and performs breast reconstruction, both implant-based and natural tissue-based forms.
Dr. Gordon R. Tobin Dr. Tobin is Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Louisville. Dr. Tobin graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington (1965) and from the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco (1969). His postgraduate education includes an internship at San Francisco General Hospital of the University of California School of Medicine (1970) and residencies at University of Arizona in general surgery (completed in 1975) and in plastic surgery (completed in 1976).
He also was appointed a Maytag Fellow in pediatric plastic surgery and in aesthetic surgery at University of Miami in Florida. Dr. Tobin is board certified in both general surgery and plastic surgery.
Dr. Tobin is past president of the Kentucky Society of Plastic Surgeons and Greater Louisville Medical Society. He has been elected to the Society of University Surgeons and the American Association of Plastic Surgeons.
His principle research fields are wound healing, muscle anatomy and reconstructive flap design, and composite tissue allograft biology. He is a member of the Louisville hand transplant and composite allograft team that performed the nation’s first hand transplant. He has authored more than 175 scientific papers and more than 25 book chapters and monographs. |  |  |
